I’ve always had a thing for makeup. I think I started wearing makeup in 4th grade. At the time that really only consisted of excess amounts of glitter and whatever blush I could find in my mom’s makeup bag. Today it is a much different story. I literally have a desk full of makeup. Like, I had to go buy a fairly large desk with a deep deep drawer to house my ever growing collection of makeup. Some people (my boyfriend) thinks it’s a waste of money, while others (me) think it’s the equivalent of a person collecting…well, something they’re passionate about. My makeup collection has probably tripled since I started college and it’s something I take pride and a great deal of interest in. That being said, it is a very expensive passion and hobby. So, one day as I was perusing the aisles of Target like I so often do, I came across the new e.l.f. section. I don’t know about you, but every Target near me for the last six months or so has had a very dismal e.l.f. section, but not anymore. They have now stocked the section with their new Studio line. I wasn’t really looking for anything, but at $3 I thought I should try something out… The baked blushes and bronzer really caught my eye. The blush because it actually looked like an amazing highlight and the bronzer because it looked like the perfect shade for my skin — not too muddy and not too orange. So, those two little guys came home with me that day and I fell in love.
The baked blush was just as I expected, more a highlight than “Passion Pink” and it’s stunning. The bronzer, just what I was hoping for, too. The perfect subtle color for the winter months. So, if you’re in the market for some affordable makeup or really just want to add to your collection, I highly recommend these items. I’ve never really been disappointed with an e.l.f. product, so this Studio line made me very happy.
I’ve also been wearing Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick in Lust for Blush since I got in for Christmas. They’re super wearable, creamy just as advertised and have a true matte finish. I’m loving these mauvey-pink shades lately!
