Wednesday Wants: 5 Ways to Liven Up Your Room for Spring

Spring is on it’s way, right? Like, I’m pretty sure when I checked my weather app this morning it said it was going to reach 65+ degrees! SPRING! As much as I like to switch up my wardrobe for the warmer temps and pack away my heavy sweaters and scarves, I also like to switch up my decor for something fresher and lighter come spring. Winter’s all about cozy blankets and warm neutrals, but when March rolls around I bust out bright colors and different textures to waken up my living space. I put together five of my favorite ways to help liven up your living space, in this case, a bedroom for spring! It’s pretty simple and certainly doesn’t have to break the bank…I know you’re probably thinking, “WHO has the time and money to redecorate for a season?!” Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re saying. Although, it’s just a few minor things you can incorporate into your current decor to let people know you’re ready for the snow to melt away and DIE. Err..let’s jump on in, shall we?
  1. Bedding: Probably one of the quickest ways to change the look of your room. Mike and I just scoured St. Louis for new bedding and landed an awesome one at TJ Maxx. If you guys would be interested in seeing photos, holler at your girl!
  2. Curtains: Again, a quick way to change the look of your room and they can be pretty darn affordable. Buy a set for spring/summer and one for fall/winter and you’re good to go. I suggest a crisp white and that way it matches just about any other decor you decide to use.
  3. Rugs: Don’t forget about your floors! So many times the floor goes unrecognized because you have carpet or pretty wood floors. I love my wood floors, but there’s nothing like getting out of bed and placing your feet on something soft as opposed to something cold and hard. It’s a great way to add dimension to your room with countless colors, patterns, and textures out there.
  4. Wall Hangings: See how easy these ideas are? Run to your local Target or Marshalls and check out their ever-growing selection of wall art. Or heck, create something of your own for virtually nothing. This instantly brightens up the room and brings everything together.
  5. Flowers & Greenery: Every home should have something green in it! Green as in a plant. Preferably a living one…but if you’re down with the whole fake flower thing, more power to ya.

That’s all. Super simple and like always, it doesn’t have to break the bank. Just remember: bright+light colors, texture, and greenery! Check back in next Wednesday for another ‘Wednesday Wants’ post. Thanks for reading, loves! Spring is on it’s way!
